Games Design

This is my design for a project where I had to make a 3D game “Monster”

This ‘monster’ is a pub owner in the game. The defining features of this character are; the clear damage the teddy-bear-like creature has taken - with parts of the character’s skeleton being visible, his missing arm, and the strange number sewn on his foot.
The main character will meet the bear around the middle of the game's narrative when they have a mission that leads them to the pub. Although he has a tough, terrifying exterior, the bear becomes an ally.
As the pub owner, he offers the main character refreshments; information on other characters; and sells you different useful items - so long as you don't ask how he got them.
This character seems to suffer from some kind of retrograde amnesia as he doesn’t fully remember who he is or why he looks the way he does. However, with what he does remember - as well as the number that was sewn on his foot (that he ripped off) - he is quite certain that he is an experiment gone wrong. Never having met any other creature with a similar look as him, he and the entire community around him believe that he was the sole survivor of this horrifying experiment.

Character made and textured in Maya, with the build completed in Unity.

This project is an audio narrative that aims to highlight the dichotomy between the technological and natural worlds and the tendency we have to remain engaged without taking a break.

You wake up, as normal, to your alarm. It’s another day, working/studying from home, just working away at your computer, staring at the screen. It has been the same thing for days on end, but today, it all becomes too much. Your computer is acting up, and every time you type, you keep getting error, upon error. You have reached your tipping point; everything is just feeling overwhelming, and you have had enough.
In an act of frustration, you sweep everything off your desk you just run. Run away from the noise, and go outside for some fresh air.
After taking a breath, you look around and see a beautiful landscape. It is an open space, grass under your feet, and a river to your side. Birds are flying free and you let out a laugh of relief as you let the sun shine on your face. You are in a happy and calm place.
However, in the distance, and quickly getting louder, you hear an alarm. Just like this morning, but…
Guess you have to get back to work.

Audio creation edited using industry-standard software such as Audacity, REAPER, Helm, and FMOD Studio.

Meet: Spore.
I created a forest pixie character that goes by the name of Spore.

Spore wears the cap of a toadstool as a hat, and generally use the materials around them to create their clothes.
They have large pointed ears to emphasise that they are a fae creatures, and walk around barefoot in the forest where they live

For this project I designed, modelled, sculpted and added texture to the character.
